Allen, Landicini, Cartagena & McGonigle lead football scoring among CAL athletes

By TOM WILLIAMS

With four weekends left in the West Jersey Football League’s regular season, 28 athletes at Cape-Atlantic League schools are among the league’s scoring leaders.

Three running backs are within six points of each other at the top of the points list – Millville’s LeQuint Allen leads Ja’Quan Howard of Cedar Creek and Kanye Udoh of St. Augustine.

Cedar Creek’s J.C. Landicini and St. Joseph’s Ja’son Prevard are both in double figures in touchdown passes.

St. Joe’s Jahmeer Cartagena, a transfer from Atlantic City, leads with seven TD catches with Cedar Creek’s JoJo Bermudez and Holy Spirit’s Elijah Steward just one TD catch behind.

Lower Cape May’s Marcus Hebron has scored two defensive TDs and St. Joseph has scored four as a team.

There is a close battle among kickers with Ocean City’s Brendan McGonigle scoring 32 points, St. Augustine’s Brendan Bispo 31 and Trevin DelGozzo of St. Joe 29.

Cedar Creek is the only CAL team that has not allowed a rushing touchdown and Ocean City the only team to not allow a passing TD.
