Tori Rolls (freshman-Montclair State), a two-time NJAC Rookie of the Week selection, was named New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year today and was the only freshman on the NJAC womens soccer first team. Rolls recorded eight goals and five assists, both best on the team. She registered a goal and an assist against William Paterson University before tallying the three-goal hat trick in a 3-0 victory over Rutgers-Newark. Montclair (12-5-2) will host Stockton tonight in the NJAC semifinals. The winner will play the winner of the Rowan-College of New Jersey game for the NJAC championship on Friday.
Dan Walsh (junior-Merchant Marine Academy) has made 14 tackles as a linebacker for the Mariners (4-2), including one tackle for a loss against Norwich. He made five tackles in a win over M.I.T. Walsh made 205 tackles during his three seasons in the OCHS lineup. The Merchant Marine Academy will host Catholic University on Saturday and will travel to Connecticut to play Coast Guard Academy on Nov. 16.
Haleigh Flukey (sophomore-Fairleigh Dickinson) has scored 24 goals this season to lead the team, including four against Drew and three each against Keystone and DeSales. She has been the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Offensive Player of the Week and was named an ECAC Division III North Region Offensive Player of the Month. The Devils (15-4) will host Misericordia Wednesday night in the MAC-Freedom Tournament semifinals.
Amanda Nunan (junior-Tennessee) has recorded the 15th fastest time in the nation in the 1,000-meter freestyle while helping the Volunteers (4-0) to a No. 3 team ranking in the country. Nunan has five individual wins and finished fifth in the SEC Meet last season in the 1,650 freestyle. Tennessee will host Purdue on Friday and Vanderbilt on Saturday.
